      Hello,
We would like to get some information on the current waste management systems for green waste and organics. And a question to gauge which priorities are more important for Dawul Wuru and the Yirrganydji community members and whether incorporating the idea of a combined composting system would be suitable.

Q1: What are the current green/organic waste management systems being used?

Q2: Of sustainability and usability (user-friendly rating), which is considered a higher priority?

        Hi Phoebe,

You can assume limited or non-existent waste management systems for green waste and organics in your design. Think of the type of waste the community may produce during the building phase or after their desired infrastructures are in place.

Sustainability and usability are both critical in designing low-maintenance odourless composting toilets. We’ve listed more design considerations here related to the project context.

I hope we have provided you with enough information to help your team move forward.

        All the best,
        Jean
