2022 Designing for Yirrganydji Country

**This event has passed, watch the recording on Youtube or view the raw file**

As part of the EWB Challenge Series, EWB Australia is hosting a panel event where you will hear from the key project stakeholder: Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation

To support students during the 2022 EWB Challenge Series with Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation, EWB Australia is hosting a panel-style event that will allow you to engage with real-world project stakeholders to learn about the community partner organisation (Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation), Yirrganydji Country and culture, and important things to consider in your design.

It will include a guided discussion with speakers then Q&A, and we’ll provide guidance on how to ask appropriate questions of your stakeholders. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students participating in the EWB Challenge from up to 16 universities across Australia and New Zealand!

This event will build off the previous ‘Yarn with Dawul Wuru‘ event held in Dec 2021 at the EWB Showcase, available in our website resources as a recording, which we encourage you to watch.

Guest speakers will be joining us from Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation from their Yirrganydji land and sea Country, which spans from Cairns to Port Douglas in Far North Queensland, Australia

FAQs

Should I prepare for the event?

You don’t have to prepare for the event – however we’d encourage you to think of some questions you would like to ask the guest speakers or EWB staff about Yirrganydji culture, Dawul Wuru’s work, or relating to your design idea.

Will the event be recorded?

Yes it will be. Watch the recording here.

I’m a course coordinator or tutor – can I attend the event?

Absolutely! We’d love to have you join in and ask a few questions to stimulate discussion, however we ask that you leave majority of the time for students to have the opportunity to interact with guest speakers and EWB Australia staff.

I have feedback about the event I’d like to share, who can I send it to?

We love to hear feedback to improve these types of events for future students and academics – please email it to ewbchallenge@ewb.org.au
