      Hello,

I would like to know what the costs would be to transport materials to Port Stewart or at the very least cost of transport to Coen. Furthermore what are the constraints for transportation i.e. weight limit / material dimensions

On top of that, does port Stewart support shipping via boat?

        Hi Ronan,

The costs to transport materials to Coen/Port Stewart from where? Some constraints and considerations associated with transport are:
        – 4WD are required due to the unpaved nature of the roads during some parts of the journey.
        – During the wet season, the roads are likely blocked off and inaccessible.
        – Air transport via the Port Stewart strip is only for essential items and limited to one trip weekly.

Dos Port Stewart support shipping via boat? The short answer would be no, as there is no formal port infrastructure.

        I hope this helps.

        Kind regards,
        Evelyn

My apologies for not elaborating on transport. I was thinking on the closest city to Coen / Port Stewart which is cairns. What would the transport cost look like when transporting goods from Cairns to Coen. Additionally if you don’t get logistics from Cairns, where do you get materials?

Thank you for the clarification Ronan. Other hubs that materials can be sourced from are Cooktown and surrounding towns, although Cairns is the primary supplier. As I don’t know the materials that are required for your design it is difficult to pinpoint exact costs. I would recommend using freight company websites to estimate costs. Some I have found are:
            Tuxworth and Woods Carriers
            BHF Express
            Fast Courrier

            I hope this can help.

            Kind regards,
            Evelyn
