Hi May,
Thank you for your question. Rubber waste exists largely as footwear such as broken and worn-out thongs, sandals and boots. Globally, thongs are seen as ‘throw-away’ items that are cheap to manufacture, purchase and have a very short life-span. Other rubber waste could include tires and tubing from vehicles, hoses and gloves. Unfortunately I do not have specific numbers on the amount of waste generated. I encourage you to research other villages and communities and see if you can apply those numbers into this context and your project.
I hope this helps!
Kind regards
Evelyn
