questions on the berms and sewales used by the Village

My tutor told me that Loidahar uses berms and swales extensively however I couldn’t find anything about them using berms I have found the village uses swales extensively
what I want to know is
1) what are the current common issues with the swale currently in use
2) minor but would be useful to know, how exactly does the rainwater get into the swale do they use another drain, or do they let the water flow into it?
3) do they use berms?
4) what has the village done to fix the issues (if there is any) with the swales

And on that note I’d also like to know more about the water retention ponds as well
1) what issues do they face
2) what are the flaws in their design
3) how does loidahar village tackle those issues and flaws?

Thank you for your questions. Unfortunately, I don’t have the answers to all of these questions. Luckily for you, we have our Community Insights Event tomorrow with WaterAid at 3-4pm AEST. There will be a Q&A at the end but I can try my best to include this question in the main section of the meeting too. Your tutor should have more information regarding the event.

There have been previous student questions on the water retention ponds that have been answered on the discussion forum. I recommend sifting through the forum as you may find the answers in there.
