In the brief, what is meant by “child safety considerations?” Does it mean making the design safe for children to use or to keep then out?

And what are the ages and occupations of the people who usually access the river?

        Hi Noor,

River water is used for various purposes, including as a source of drinking water. Please read our background information on river water at Design Area 2 – Water supply.

Adults are expected to access the river; however, they are sometimes accompanied by their children. There are also instances where children and teenagers like Chen Saitevy, who are helping on their family farm, access the river. In the design brief, “child safety considerations” means making the design safe for use.

To better understand the location of the infrastructure you’ll be designing, explore the Interactives: 360 Site Walkthroughs and look for Chen Saitevy’s home. We linked a video there on her way to collect water from the river.

I hope this clears things up.

        Regards,
        Jean
