on page 20 of the challenge document, it states that the Mayi food market in Coen provides grocery distribution to remote communities, which ‘creates opportunities for fresh foods harvested from land and sea to enter local markets, supporting healthier and more localised food systems’
      – my question is, what foods harvested from sea and country are commonly enjoyed? what ability does this marketing have to support the livelihoods of Lama Lama people?

My other question is what are some common activities enjoyed by the Lama Lama community, families and visiting tourists? Such as sports, games, cooking etc. This is to help understand what kind of facilities may be needed and what kind of power requirements may be required of them.

        Hi Micah,

Foods harvested from sea and on Country include sea turtles, dugong, fish such as barramundi, mud crabs, kangaroo, bush fruits and nuts. The Mayi Market supports livelihoods by strengthening local food security and improving access to healthy, affordable food. Read more about it here: Cape York Partnership – Mayi Market

Activities enjoyed by Lama Lama community and visiting tourists include bird watching, fishing, boating, tours, camping, hunting. Check out this page: Visiting Lama Lama Country

I hope this helps and good luck with your project.

        Kind regards,
        Evelyn
