How do floodwaters behave on Lama Lama Country during cyclones compared to typical wet season flooding, in terms of rise time (time to peak), peak height, and most significantly recession time in days, weeks, months, etc.? I am particularly interested in the timing of cyclonic flooding back to normal wet-season flood leavels.

        Hi Krystle,

I do not have quantitative information about the differences between cyclones and regular flooding. During the Community Insights Event, we heard:

The lower camp is at a higher risk in terms of the flooding, because of the difference between the ground level and the river level is hardly one and a half meters which impacts the surrounding infrastructure. Cyclones also bring in heavy wind and if the houses are not maintained properly, it may cause damage which is much more aggressive than standard flooding.
