Hi Mashood,
We encourage students to conduct independent research and review the Additional Information documents for each Design Area.
In rural Timor‑Leste, with its high vegetation and sparse infrastructure/impermeable surfaces, you can assume that 80–95% of rainfall is absorbed into the soil. This corresponds to a runoff coefficient of 0.05–0.15 with typical infiltration rates of 25–50 mm per hour, supporting efficient water absorption in tropical environments. These assumptions are useful for hydrological modelling and water resource planning for your design solutions.
Cheers,
Anthony
