I looked around the village of Pu Ngoal using the 360 interactive module but I still couldn’t quite grasp how big and spread out the village is. The information that we’ve been given is that the village houses around 550 people but I’d like to know if they are all gathered around one place or are the villagers dispersed out occupying a wider area of land. The gist of this question is just how dense the population is and what is the area, roughly estimated, that the villagers occupy.

        Hi Ilaitia,

Glad to hear that you have been exploring the interactives to build your understanding of Pu Ngaol.

What project opportunity are you looking to solve or design around?

Have you seen the Pu Ngaol village map in the Resources section? If not, see this earlier discussion forum post with a link to a bird’s eye map of the village. This may help you get a better understanding of how the village is laid out. You may also find the Technical Report on MondulKiri Provincial Spatial Plan (2020 – 2040) useful to read – particularly Section 2.7 Demography and population. This includes some population density data by district in Mondulkiri.

        Kind Regards,
        Anthony
