Hi i was just wondering , the houses in saibai island , what are their rooftops made of? Cause for our project we were planning to put rainwater storage tanks on top and i wasnt sure if their roof is sturdy enough to hold them .

        Hi Saemah (and team)

Best not to put any rainwater tanks on any rooftops.

You need the rooftops themselves to capture and harvest the rainwater so that it funnels down into the rainwater tank – you won’t be able to maximise this if the tank is on top of the roof.

Additionally, the capacity of a typical rainwater tank is 2000-5000L, which equates to 2-5 tonnes (plus the weight of the tank itself). Structurally, this is not feasible.

Looking forward to seeing how your design progresses.

        Kind regards
