Our group has done some research on Loidahar and found that a majority of Timor Leste’s populace are Christians. As such, we were wondering if there are any churches in the village. We’d also like to know if there are any open spaces where the community holds meetings or where talks can be held.

      Thank you.

        Hi Ezra,

There is no churches in Loidahar village. Residents travel to the district Liquiçá for mass.

Yes, there is a community administrative office for village gatherings (formal and informal) which you can view in the 360 interactives.

        Cheers,
        Anthony

          Hi there,

Our group is researching into emergency/natural disaster notification systems (i.e. sirens). Is there currently something like this in place?

          Thanks!

            Hi Joel,

Are you working on this project opportunity: 3.2 Improved health consultation access and emergency intervention?

I’m interested to know how you might integrate emergency notification systems into your design. Could you please provide us with additional context?

            Regards,
            Jean

              Hi Jean,

Sorry, I may have placed my question into the wrong forum. Our team was initially exploring 6.1 Enhancing Connectivity, where we looked at implementing LoRa repeaters to improve connectivity in rural communities.

In our research, we came across examples from Pacific Island nations where LoRa has been used for emergency notification systems, such as tsunami warning sirens. In our case, we were considering a similar approach for natural disaster alerts (e.g. flooding/flash flooding). The idea is to warn people in rural areas, particularly those without internet access, that they need to evacuate. However, this new idea could also align with 3.2 Improved health consultation access and emergency intervention.

I was mainly trying to find out if Loidahar already has something like this in place.

              Thanks,
              Joel
