For point 4.3 “Weed and feral animal management innovation”, we are wondering what is the current system in place for dealing with feral animals. What kinds of traps or otherwise are in place, and do these sometimes interfere with other wild animals? is there a specific website page or other place where we could find further information? thank you!

        Hi Olive,

Here are a few resources that I’ve found that may aid with your research:

        – Organisations such as Cape York Weeds and Feral Animals Inc. have a presence in Port Stewart. A list of services that they provide to the region can be found here.

        – Here’s a video that states that fencing is a solution to target the erosion caused by wild pigs and cattle.

        – There is an established Lama Lama cattle enterprise managed from Maramba (Silver Plains Station). The goal of the enterprise is to remove feral cattle from protected areas and build up breeding stock.

        I hope these sources help!

        Kind regards,
        Evelyn
