      Goodmorning,
      I had a couple questions regarding their waste practices.

      1. It is mentioned that the school collects plastic bottles for recycling and upon further research I believe that this began in 2019. However I could not find any mention of it after 2020. Is this still occuring? and is there possibility of expanding their partnership for this to include other recyclable materials accepted at the Cairns facility?

      2. I have looked through their landfill/ dump and see that domestic waste is collected twice a week. Is dumping in the landfill open to all residents? If so do they have any ‘tax’ on this?

        Hi Cesca,

        Yes, the school is still collecting recyclable materials and they bring this to the nearest container refund points.

        In our design brief, we mentioned that the domestic waste collection is free of charge for residential properties.
