It’s great to be thinking about locally available material for your design. As part of the Challenge, we really encourage students to do their own research.
The Design Brief and EWB Challenge website are a good place to start with lots of rich content and Additional Information resources available under each of the design areas.
You’ll be able to research locally available, common construction materials.
Keep in mind that your housing design must be designed for saline/seawater environments and ideally on elevated supports (not concrete slabs or stumps) due to the tidal inundation.
