    Hi Paul,

    Unfortunately, most articles I’ve found only relate the resin-tapping activity to the villagers’ livelihood. The resin source might help you research the properties of the polymer further. According to this 2018 case study about resin tapping in Mondulkiri, Cambodia:

    “Resins extracted from Dipterocarp trees (Dipterocarpus sp. or Shorea sp.) are collected and sold to middlemen for manufacturing paint or boat sealant, or making torches or varnish.”
