    Hi Rafael,

It’s great to see that your thinking about how you can leverage already existing infrastructure in your design. Well done on the research that you’ve done so far.

As stated in the design brief, disaster communications chains utilise email from centralised disaster monitoring facilities on the mainland to notify local authorities. This requires active human engagement and introduces room for communication difficulties.

I don’t know specifically whether Saibai Island already uses this HF Marine Radio Voice Service but perhaps in your design you can design for both scenarios? What additional steps would be required in your design if they weren’t currently utilising this service?

For the purposes of the Challenge, it would okay to assume that the BOM would be open to collaborating as a key stakeholder but I’d suggest you justify the advantages of the collaboration and work through any potential sticking points the BOM might have with appropriate alternatives.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Anthony
