In current retention ponds and storage tanks, how is water being transferred through the piped networks from the retention ponds into the storage tanks? Is this through a pump system, gravity fed system or another alternative?

Does this piped network continuously move water into storage tanks or is this something that they can control?

        Hello Alana,

From the retention ponds to the storage tanks, it’s a combination of pump and gravity fed network of HDPE pipes.

This network is basic (as you can observe in the gallery under Design Area Two). Flow control and maintenance is mostly manual, with ongoing upkeep and operation by the GMF (volunteer Water User Group). Some storage tanks are fitted with solar powered water level indicators and automation, however these are limited.

        Cheers,
        Anthony
