What are the tools and methods used in Loidahar village to dig out the retention ponds?

What did they use for the 11 retention ponds already in place and what would they use to dig out the ponds at a household level?

        Hello Jordan,

What are the tools and methods used in Loidahar village to dig out the retention ponds?
You can assume small 5T excavators and hand held tools (we observed a 20T excavator on the narrow main road during our daily commute up the mountain to visit Loidahar. We were amazed that they got this up there).

What did they use for the 11 retention ponds already in place and what would they use to dig out the ponds at a household level?
Retention ponds were constructed with mechanical plant (excavators). Household level are very small (< 2x2m) and likely built by hand. Cheers, Anthony
