      Hi,

      I’m just seeking some further information in relation to overgrown grasses in Pu Ngaol.

      I have read that overgrown grasses are an issue and are usually removed manually or by the use of chemicals.

      However, there is no mention of the type of grass that is the most problematic.

      Is the problem strictly related to grasses, or does this include weeds as well?

      If possible, can you identify the specific grass and/or weed types that pose the greatest problem in the area?

        Hi Dan,

        The scope of the project opportunity in the brief is specific to the reduction/removal of overgrown grass. Certainly, weeds in crop production are also a common problem but it’s up to your team if you want to expand your scope of work.

        Unfortunately, I can’t find information that pinpoints the type of grass species, however, I found this 2023 study: SURVEY ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIONS IN MONDULKIRI mentions preventing the growth of grass and the use of non-chemical fertilizers. One way to frame the problem is also to explore what could be safely used around the commonly grown crops in Mondulkiri province.

          Hi Jean,

          Thanks for your reply.

          I have found a similar resource, however the Agricultural Standard Practices section within the resource you have identified I found especially useful, due to the Q&A format and distribution of how farmers tend to their land in the area.

            You’re welcome, Dan! Thanks for highlighting that section too. I didn’t get a chance to read the document thoroughly. I found it insightful that they’re currently doing certification schemes in organic farming.
