      Hello,
What is the iron filtration method used at Port Stewart? From my research, different filters require different maintenance and spatial needs, which is key to a great design.

I presume it is an aeration sedimentation filter but the concrete tank near the elevated water tanks has no clear way of removing the iron sludge build-up (or is this just another water tank?).

In a EWB video conference on 13 March 2026, Alex Gartrell mentions that this iron filter is not working as it was not maintained properly. I would like to know what part of the filter was not maintained properly. From my research aeration filters struggle with water with iron levels over 10mg/L. The Port Stewart has been reported to be higher than 30mg/L sometimes.

And how much of an impact would the corroded pipes and misplaced river water inlet also have on the performance of the filter system.

      Thank you, Ryan.
