      Hi,
I have researched that a bore pump must be removed from the water well to be cleaned. I assume that the bore pump there can do that as well or the fire pump, based on the fact the community creates improvised ponds. Is this assumption correct?

Also, I was wondering was there any cleaning system throughout the river water system for the pipes? and what was the frequency of the pipes and pump cleaning? How frequent was the iron filter backwash cycle? I assume it was not frequent enough if there were blockages and issues.

      Thank you,
      Dayla

        Hi Dayla,

Thank you for your questions. I passed your queries onto our Senior First Nations Program Manager who has informed me that:

        1. Yes, your assumption is correct. However, there is no bore pump. They only use the fire pump. This only happens during the dry season when water in the river dries up.

        2. Currently, there is no system of cleaning the river water for the pipes.

        I hope this helps.

        Kind regards,
        Evelyn
